I just received my new oracle card deck, The Good Tarot, and I’m so excited to get to use it for this newsletter. I know once you guys see the images in this deck you are gonna love it too…I’m sure it’s quickly going to become one of my favorite reading decks 🙂
But first, let’s talk about the lovely moon….Today’s Full Moon is in Scorpio, an intense and emotional water sign. You may have felt that something has been building emotionally for a while, and this full moon is going to blow it wide open, so be prepared. If you’d like to learn more about the effects of this moon you can head over to Ruby Slipper Astrology for all the details.
A Little Court Card Exercise
addiction guilty pleasure is the TV show Suits, and have been binge watching it on Netflix to try and catch up. Number one daughter has been bugging me to watch it for ages but I’m a little late to the party. I thought it would be an interesting exercise, and maybe informative for people who don’t read the tarot, to apply court cards to each of the characters in the show so you can see what each court card represents. So here is my take:
Harvey is totally the King of Swords. Rapier quick wit. Authoritative and analytical. This dude would probably never lose at chess. He is articulate and is concerned with winning, but also with justice.
Mike on the other hand is the Knight of Wands (but on his way to being the King 😉 ) Charming and attractive, full of energy and enthusiasm, he is passionate about what he believes in. He needs constant stimulation and seeks out novelty and change. He is competitive and is willing to take risks to get what he wants.
Jessica is the King of Pentacles. She is an empire builder. Cultured and refined, she will wine and dine you and treat you like royalty to make sure she gets what she wants- which is power and money. Don’t mess with this chick, she’s clever enough to run you into the ground with an elegant flick of her hand- and you won’t see it coming.
Donna epitomizes the Queen of Wands. Sultry and sensual, she even has flaming red hair- fire is the element attributed to the suit of wands. She is feisty, magnetic and can be enthusiastically spontaneous, but her best attribute (and Harvey’s critical demand) is her loyalty. Once she is on your side it will be a cold day in hell before she ever even thinks of betraying you.
I had a really hard time coming up with a court card for Rachel. I wanted to pick one of the Pages because I feel like she hasn’t displayed a lot of depth yet emotionally. However, she IS passionate and once she figures things out is unconditionally accepting. Because of her devotion and honesty in all things I changed my mind and went with the Queen of Cups.
Lewis was a hard pick for me too. While he is a high powered lawyer, he comes off as a buffoon, someone who thinks he knows everything but really has no clue what is going on most of the time. Because he does a lot of things on the spur of the moment without thinking about the consequences, and he can be tactless, rude and overbearing I went with the Knight of Swords here 😉
What show is your current fave? Do you see any of these traits in characters on that show?
May Full Moon Oracle Card Pull
For this Full Moon’s Oracle Card I pulled the Messenger of Earth.
This oracle card tells us that for the next 2 weeks we will have to work hard and be industrious. Keep your nose to the grindstone. It asks us to always do our best, never leave a job half done and be dedicated to our craft. An affirmation that we can work with over the next two weeks is “I am dedicated and determined, knowing that my efforts will pay off”.
This card really resonates with me at the moment, I am working hard on building up my clientele in my tarot business and the next couple of weeks are going to be busy with events and readings. It’s comforting to be optimistic that it will all pay off in the end 🙂
I’ve got lots going on in the next little while, here is a round up for you, hope to see you there!
